Introducing the Unstable Foundation

Unstable was conceived in late 2023 with a vision to spearhead ZK-enabled DeFi. To support the next phase of our journey, we are thrilled to announce the Unstable Foundation, an independent non-profit dedicated to furthering the advancement of the ZKDeFi ecosystem.

The Unstable Foundation's mission is to bring ZK primitives to all corners of the DeFi ecosystem. ZK systems are finally ready for real, production applications on mainnet. The foundation's mandate is to accelerate the growth and adoption of ZKDeFi primitives developed by the Unstable Labs team.

The foundation will support the nascent ZKDeFi ecosystem by pursuing four strategic pillars:

Development & Innovation: Funding core protocol development, maintaining critical infrastructure, and supporting experimental ZK research that pushes the boundaries of what's possible in DeFi.

Ecosystem Growth: Deploying strategic grants, liquidity incentives, and partnership programs to bootstrap network effects and drive adoption of ZK-enabled financial primitives.

Education & Advocacy: Creating educational resources, hosting workshops, and building partnerships with academic institutions to advance understanding of zero-knowledge technology in finance.

Governance & Stewardship: Facilitating progressive decentralization through transparent governance mechanisms, ensuring the protocol evolves according to community needs while maintaining its technical excellence.

The Foundation believes that true decentralization means creating aligned, incentivized stakeholders of those who build, use, and advocate ZKDeFi.
